Filthy Rich & Catflap Research Wiki[edit]

This wiki exists as a repository for information relating to the 1987 BBC2 sitcom Filthy Rich & Catflap starring Nigel Planer, Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson. The show was written by Ben Elton with contributions by Rik Mayall.

Although Catflap was the successor to the highly popular and innovative comedy The Young Ones it did not prove to be as popular, lasting for one series of six episodes. No books have been written about the show, and it has rarely been discussed in interviews with the actors, writers and members of the production team.

The BBC Written Archive have suggested that in comparison to earlier programs, not much material was archived for the show. Comparatively little information about it is (or was) publicly available.

In 2022, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the show, a podcast titled Podcasto Catflappo was launched, aiming to discover as much about Filthy Rich & Catflap as possible and to speak to everyone still living that was involved with the show.

Information gleaned from the podcast (and other sources) is kept on this wiki in an easy-to-access and conveniently linked & categorized format. Enjoy, loobies!
